Artist Statement
"My practice revolves around my material explorations in sculpture and fashion design. I enjoy creating everyday objects like chairs, bags, wallets, phone covers, dresses and
garments and make them unconventional yet comfortable to use. I also explore a
lot with the structure of a human body that I can a lot of times incorporates
into fashion design. I work around the theme of nature. This can be evident
from my love for the mediums like wood and leather. I explore other mediums
like bronze, glass, lucite and ceramics too. I likes the idea of mediums being
raw and unpolished to highlight its authenticity such as raw crystals. My
love for wood developed ever since I was a child as my father works as a
commercial artist and wood is a constant essential need to build things, so I
started using my father’s wood workshop and explored different techniques like
carving, sanding, polishing, sawing and drilling. I would say that I am very
detailed in my works and I hold a great value in quality and craftsmanship. I
also like to use very natural color schemes like brown, nude, green, oak and
tan. I also practice other art forms such as playing the piano and the flute."
